After SS13: Another stage win for Hänninen

Juho Hänninen has made it five stage wins from 11 starts with the fastest time through the penultimate test of Rally Internacional de Curitiba. But while the Finn celebrated another rapid display, second place for Kris Meeke means the British Peugeot 207 driver will take a lead of 39.9 seconds into the rally’s final stage, the 23.07-kilometre Campina run.

After SS14: Meeke and Nagle win in Brazil

Kris Meeke and co-driver Paul Nagle have won Rally Internacional de Curitiba for a second time. The Peugeot UK pair beat Škoda UK duo Guy Wilks and Phil Pugh following a faultless display on this demanding gravel rally. The victory means Meeke has won more IRC events than any other driver since the series began in 2007. Eduardo Peredo stopped 500 meters before the stage finish because of the engine failure.

Meanwhile, Juho Hanninen secured third with his sixth special stage win in a works Fabia to move to the top of the provisional drivers’ standings on 14 points.

Kris Meeke : "I’m very happy, we had some strategy before the start and it worked. Everything went OK, I was really hungry for the succes after our retirement in Monte Carlo."

Guy Wilks : "We had some good fights here. We were getting the experience here during the first day, there were also very difficult weather conditions. We look forward to Argentina."

Juho Hänninen : "Well OK, we had some troubles yesterday, we were pushing today, but couldn’t fight for higher places. In Argentina, I’ll do my best!"

Jan Kopecký : "It was difficult weekend, I still have not so much experience on gravel. Let’s see in Argentina."

Bruno Magalhaes : "It was very difficult rally. Today I was more confident with my driving."

Daniel Oliveira : "We are happy to be in finish. I think it will be a bit easier in Argentina, where the roads are wider and smoother."

Eduardo Scheer : "It was good battle, but I don’t know yet if we won our private fight with Peredo."
