Back to where it began for Gregoire Demoustier
The track of his first WTCC race
Grégoire Demoustier will return to the scene of his FIA World Touring Car Championship debut when he takes to the grid for WTCC Race of Argentina on Sunday.
Demoustier entered his first WTCC races at Termas de Río Hondo in March 2015 and will be back at the track in the Santiago del Estero region following tests at Barcelona and Navarra in Spain last month.
“The testing has enabled us to better understand some things,” said the Frenchman. “Though tests are never like a real race, I’m satisfied with the progress I’ve made and I hope that it shows in the next rounds, allowing me to achieve results that are more interesting than those I got lately in the first part of the season.
“Termas de Rio Hondo is a rather classic track compared to the Nürburgring or Vila Real, and I think that shall suit me best. So we’ll have to head in the right direction and bring all the pieces of the puzzle together. Having started there in WTCC, I would really want to show how far I’ve gone in a year and a half.
“I’m happy in this championship and particularly as a member of the Sébastien Loeb Racing which I’ve joined this year.”
With no test car available, Demoustier’s Citroën C-Elysée WTCC was flown to Argentina to allow him to carry out his testing in Spain.
