Andersson impresses in factory PROTON

The factory PROTON Motorsports team has made a hugely impressive start to the penultimate round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge with PG Andersson setting the second fastest time on the repeat of the Carron Valley night stage, held in damp and slippery conditions.

Andersson’s performance, in his Satria Neo Super 2000, puts him third in the overall standings alongside co-driver and fellow Swede Emil Axelsson.

“We enjoyed ourselves,” said Andersson, 30. “The car is great on this surface. It’s very interesting though, you have no idea where the grip is. It’ll be nice to see the road tomorrow instead of the mud.”

Andersson’s PROTON team-mate Alister McRae was 13th overall after stage one.
