Three questions to Sepp Wiegand
ŠKODA Auto Deutschland star looks ahead to Cyprus IRC finale
What’s your objective for the Cyprus Rally?
“The most important thing is to finish the rally and to learn. It’s the last race of the year to make an impression but we can’t do that if we don’t finish. A podium would be a nice way to end the year but I don’t know so much about some of the drivers I will be competing against.”
How have you prepared for your IRC return?
“I’ve not driven my ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 since Barum Czech Rally Zlín in September so I had a test on Tuesday to get my feeling back and to get comfortable in the car. I have also watched a lot of videos from last year’s rally.”
At the end of your first season in the IRC, what’s the biggest thing you’ve learned?
“I’ve learned a lot about the pacenotes, I’ve learned how to handle the events and I also believe I am faster. When I arrived in the Açores for the first round I was nervous and confused because everything was new to me. Now I know how to handle everything, like the TV interviews, so I am completely concentrated on my driving.”
