The mechanics of RML, Liqui Moly Team Engstler and Campos Racing are working in a rush to repair damages gained by their drivers in the second free practice.

In the Engstler garage the BMW cars of Charles Ng and Franz Engstler are undergoing interventions on the bodywork and suspension. Team manager Kurt Treml is confident that both vehicles will be ready to take part in this afternoon’s qualifying.

Same feeling at Campos Racing, where Michael Soong’s SEAT is reported to have suffered from repairable damage at the front right suspension.

The situation is more serious at RML, where Tom Chilton’s Chevrolet is in a quite bad shape after a massive crash at the Solitude Esses.

“I slightly clipped the outside wall and found myself shot against the inside barrier. There was
nothing I could do to avoid the impact,” explained Chilton who suffers from bruises to the whole left side of his body, from the neck to the ankle.
