Solberg back in the top five
After another eventful day
Petter Solberg started the second leg of Rally Mexico with the aim of gaining as much positions as possible in the overall standing.
Mission accomplished for the Norwegian who moved up from 13th to 5th despite a few mechanical woes – broken handbrake and fuel pressure problem - and a big moment on SS17 – a spin in the air over a big jump caused by a broken gearlever.
He took four stage wins in the process.
“It’s going really well. The speed is absolutely there and I’m very happy with our performance today”, he said. “I was aiming for 5th and that’s where we are now. I have no strategy for tomorrow other than to go fast and win stages. Anything is possible.”
Three more stages will be run on Sunday.
