Rain adds to the Curitiba challenge
Threat of intermittent rain showers
Jan Kopecký says the continued threat of intermittent rain showers will add to the challenge facing the crews on Rally Internacional de Curitiba this week.
Speaking after completing the reconnaissance of the 15 special stages on Wednesday evening, factory Škoda Motorsport driver Kopecký said: “The grip seems to change a lot, particularly on the stages that will be used on the second day. I don’t think there will be ruts in the road because the surface is quite hard but the rain can make it quite difficult.”
Mikko Markkula, who will co-drive Juho Hänninen in the second works Fabia S2000, added: "It is quite difficult to predict what will happen because you have rain showers then it dries quite quickly because it is so hot and that means the surface changes rapidly."
"If it rains some more then I think the Campo Magro stage on Friday will be quite difficult because it is used three times and could become quite rough in places."
