Nika signs Bryant-Meisner on long-term

John Bryant-Meisner will step up to the FIA World Touring Car Championship in 2016 after he signed a long-term deal with Nika International.

The 21-year-old Swede has experience in Formula 3 and sportscars and will pilot a Nika-run Honda Civic WTCC, subject to final FIA approval.

He has also been selected for the Nika-run Swedish Young Generation programme, which supports young Swedish athletes at the early stages of their professional careers.

A statement from the Swedish team read: “We are thrilled to start working with John’s WTCC career; the most competitive race series there is. The teams solid background in touring car racing will also ensure his development as a new driver within the WTCC-circus and make his transition from formula racing to touring car as smooth as possible.

“Now a period of intense preparation starts for John and the team with adjusting the car to John, simulator sessions and other tests will also take place. The timeframe to get it all together is tight but with the team´s long experience John will be ready for his first WTCC race at the WTCC premier at Circuit Paul Ricard in April.”
