Kopecký back on duty in Czech Republic

Less than a week after his dramatic final-stage victory on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés, Jan Kopecký will be back in action on the second round of the Czech championship, the Bonver Valašská Rally.

Kopecký is chasing the prestigious Czech title this season in his ŠKODA Motorsport Fabia Super 2000 alongside selected appearances in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

He starts the asphalt event, which runs from 23-24 March over a competitive distance of 150.2 kilometres, as the championship leader following his win on the first round in Austria in January.

“Last year I won this rally and I think we are able to win it again this year,” said Kopecký. “But Roman Kresta will use the same car as me and will be very quick. Doing the rally in Canarias has helped me but the set-up for the stages will be different.”
