Honda puts on weight for Suzuka
20 kilos for the Civic
The weight of the Honda Civic cars will be increased by 10 kilos for the Japanese Manufacturer’s home race meeting at Suzuka.
Following the calculations based on the lap times set in Portugal, Argentina and USA the Chevrolet Cruze remains the reference car and will be laden by the maximum compensation weight of 40 kilos once again.
However, the Honda cars’ performance at Sonoma, where Gabriele Tarquini scored the Civic’s second victory of the season, while Tiago Monteiro and Norbert Michelisz claimed podium results, means that they will receive 20 kilos of compensation weight instead of the 10 they had in USA.
BMW and SEAT cars will benefit from a weight reduction of 20 and 10 kilos respectively compared to Sonoma; therefore they will run 20 kilos under the minimum weight, just like the LADA cars.
Compensation weight Suzuka
+ 40 kg : Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T
+ 20 kg : Honda Civic S2000
- 20 kg : BMW 320 TC, LADA Granta, SEAT León WTCC
