New and old S2000 on the field
During the 2011 season all the Super 2000 cars will be eligible to compete in the FIA World Touring Car Championship. Alongside the new S2000 cars fitted with the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, the old 2.0-litre cars with petrol-powered normally aspirated and turbodiesel engines will be also allowed to take part.
Minimum weights for the new S2000 cars have been fixed at 1150 kg for front-wheel drive and 1170 for rear wheel drive.
The weights for the old cars will be: 1150 kg for normally aspirated fwd, 1155 kg for normally aspirated rwd and 1170 kg for turbodiesel fwd.
All the cars will start the season on the maximum compensation weight, or 40 kilos added to the minimum weights.
