Canarias finish the priority for IRC ace Tempestini

The all-Romanian crew of Marco Tempestini and Dorin Pulpea are back on IRC Production Cup duty on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés this week determined to claim the points finish that eluded them on the first event of the season.

Driving a Subaru Impreza R4 STI, Tempestini and Pulpea hadn’t originally planned to contest the all-asphalt event but added it to their schedule following their non-finish on SATA Rallye Açores last month.

“Our goal is to finish on the podium of the IRC Production Cup at the end of the season,” said Tempestini. “In Açores, we were close to a good result, but unfortunately we had some problems and didn’t score points. In order to keep our chances, we decided to include the second round of the IRC in our calendar for this year.”

Tempestini continued: “This rally is completely different from the other ones in this season. But if we will be able to get in rhythm as fast as we did in Açores, I’m sure we can get a good result, provided we cross the finish line.”
