Boardman to rejoin at Sonoma
"We had worked so hard to prepare the car"
Tom Boardman and the Special Tuning Racing team have decided to skip the Argentine event and to ship their SEAT León straight to the United States for the races in Sonoma.
The decision was taken following the incident that involved Boardman and Darryl O’Young during the last lap of the first race at Porto and resulted in massive damage for STR’s car.
“I was frustrated because we had worked so hard to prepare the car and all was going well. I was fourth in the Yokohama Trophy and on for scoring much needed points, and the car was definitely on the pace. I felt really good and was pleased with the speed and to have our weekend cut short was a bitter pill to swallow. Still, we remain positive and I am really looking forward to Sonoma, an event that I really enjoyed last year,” Boardman commented.
