Álvaro Parente flew today to Bahrain to participate in the GP2 Asia Series race, which will take place next Friday. He is going to race with a Coloni’s team car.

After Aurora Racing Team’s project presentation, Álvaro Parente was able to count on Aurora’s support to accept the Italian team invitation and consequently to return assuming this position after the 2009 championship ending.

This return to GP2 Asia is acknowledged mainly as a preparation for the new season, as the pilot stated before boarding into this long journey “everything happened so fast and I only had time to grab my stuff and leave. I don’t know the team’s staff, but I know they are very pleased with my presence and it’s an excellent opportunity to drive a GP2 car once more.”

The prospect for this race in Bahrain’s circuit is as always “to do the best I can, knowing that they are already at the end of the championship and that it won’t be easy. However, I am already acquainted with this circuit and in the past I made there an outstanding race, which was only ruined due to a major problem with the car’s tires as well as small collision from Mortara.”

Álvaro Parente had mentioned in the Aurora Racing Team’s project presentation, which took place in Lisbon, in the night-club Kapital hosted by Marta Leite Castro and in the presence of a long number of guests, that in this year “he would seize all opportunities in order to keep on competing and to be able to fight his way in F1 in 2010 or 2011.”

Álvaro Parente also took a moment to thank the support given all through the year as well as his presence in Aurora Racing Team event, which marks a new status in motor sports.
