Norris swears off alcohol for 2019
"I had some drinks but no alcohol"
No alcohol could be one of the secrets of Lando Norris’ early success in 2019.
Despite McLaren’s earlier run of poor form, the 19-year-old rookie has had a great start to his F1 career by getting into Q3 in the opening two races and finishing sixth in Bahrain.
But Norris told Auto Motor und Sport that he didn’t celebrate in the predictable way afterwards.
"I had some drinks but no alcohol," he said.
"I want to stay away from it this year. This is my chance in formula one and I have to use it.
"I’m not going to do anything stupid and risk my career," added Norris.
Before the season, some were predicting that McLaren would be bringing up the rear in 2019 along with Williams.
But Norris says everything is going "better than expected".
