Kvyat driving ’better than ever’ in 2019
"I am in very good shape"
Former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat says he is driving better than ever in 2019.
The 25-year-old Russian had a meteoric start to his F1 career in 2014, earning a swift promotion from Toro Rosso to the senior Red Bull team.
But he was demoted back to Toro Rosso in 2016 and dropped from the programme and F1 altogether at the end of the following year, spending last season as a Ferrari tester.
However, he is back with Toro Rosso this year, qualifying a strong eighth in Monaco and finishing Sunday’s race one place higher.
"I am in very good shape," Kvyat said after the race, according to Russia’s Championat.
"I am now driving a car better than ever in my life. I really hope I can transform this into even better results in the near future.
"It also helps that the Toro Rosso is very fast this season. In Barcelona, we were generally the fastest team in the middle group of teams," he added.
