Pedro de la Rosa has stated that he is full of hope ahead of this weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix, a race with characteristics similar to Monaco which should therefore suit HRT. The Spaniard also achieved the best result of his career at Hungary back in 2006, when he finished 2nd for McLaren.

After yet another exceedingly positive result for HRT at last weekend’s German Grand Prix, the Spanish outfit are once again aiming to take further steps forward around the Hungaroring. With HRT suffering only four retirements so far throughout this season, it’s no doubt that HRT are one of the most consistent teams on the grid.

"The Hungaroring is the permanent Monaco and a circuit where I have very good memories since I achieved a podium there in 2006.” Explained Pedro de la Rosa. “I’m really looking forward to going this year because it’s a circuit where our car should adapt pretty well, as there are many slow corners. It’s similar to Monaco, and we were pretty competitive there, so I’m full of hope. In Germany we had a good performance and a good race so we’re looking forward to Hungary because we should do better there.”

During the German Grand Prix, Pedro de la Rosa was able to enjoy a race long battle with the Marussia of Timo Glock, eventually passing the German towards the closing stages of the race. This was naturally a stupendous boost for the team, after initially struggling to qualify for the season opener in Australia.

Last season HRT finished the Hungarian Grand Prix 18th and 20th, and will undoubtedly be striving for a better result this coming weekend as they hope to continue their on track skirmishes with Marussia.
