Another weekend of damage limitation for

While the team is working in Shanghai, getting everything set up for the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend, back in Maranello all departments are flat out, with everyone concentrating on trying to find ways of improving the performance of the 150° Italia, especially in qualifying. Yesterday, President Luca di Montezemolo had a long meeting with Stefano Domenicali and the Scuderia’s senior engineers, going through a detailed examination of the situation and the short and mid-term programmes.

Speaking today to ferrari.com, Montezemolo reaffirmed his confidence in the team’s ability to get back on track. “I am sure we know how to react and get back to being competitive at the highest level,” said the President. “Already in Malaysia, we could have landed a better result than we did. Both Fernando and Felipe had good races and only two negative incidents prevented them from getting to the podium. I am especially happy about Felipe’s performance, as he drove with bravura and aggression, showing he is back on top form, so I am particularly pleased for him.”

Domenicali and Costa left Maranello this morning and will arrive in Shanghai tomorrow, while Pat Fry is already in China to coordinate work at the track. It will be another weekend of damage limitation for the Scuderia, especially in qualifying. To date the 150° Italia has delivered better pace in the race, but clearly, to fight for the championship, a step forward is required.
