Trulli eyed possible Sauber move

Jarno Trulli joins Heikki Kovalainen at the new Lotus F1 team this year after a largely frustrating five-year stint at Toyota. The Italian veteran was linked to a number of teams over the off-season including Sauber.

With BMW pulling out of the sport and a period of uncertainty until Sauber took full control of the Hinwil outfit, the team has secured promising rookie Kamui Kobayashi for next season but Trulli ruled himself out of the equation following the period of uncertainty.

“I had contact with Peter Sauber, that’s true,” Trulli told Blick. “He is quite unlike any other in this circus. Peter Sauber is clean and honest but with the departure of BMW it will be harder for his team than before.”
