Win some, lose some for WTCC racer Catsburg
Bad luck in Spa
Nicky Catsburg won’t be on a complete high when he heads to Argentina later this week for the country’s FIA World Touring Car Championship counter.
The Dutchman was trying to win the Spa 24 Hours for a second year running but came up short thanks to a clutch failure on his BMW M6 GT3.
P16 at the halfway point, Catsburg and team-mates Stef Dusseldorp and Dirk Werner were in the top 10 when a clutch failure put them out with an hour and a half remaining.
“I’m still a bit torn at the moment,” said Catsburg, a race winner for LADA Sport Rosneft in this season’s WTCC. “Naturally, we were unable to finish the race, but we were up there fighting for the leading positions for large sections of the race. We had the required pace, the team did an outstanding job and our sister car brought home the win. I know what that feels like, and it is something very special for the entire team.”
