Button wins but Vettel extends title lead
Now 85 points clear of Webber
Second best was more than good enough for Sebastian Vettel on Sunday, extending his championship lead despite losing the Hungarian grand prix to Jenson Button.
The Red Bull driver started the slippery Budapest race 77 points ahead of teammate Mark Webber, and ended it 85 points clear.
Briton Button, 31, was just fifth in the world championship before starting his 200th grand prix in similar conditions to his maiden win at the Hungaroring five years ago.
Also in the top three was Ferrari’s consistent Fernando Alonso.
"It’s been clear for a couple of races they’ve made a step forward and we need to come back," said Vettel.
