Tiago Monteiro is pleased to announce that he will be participating in the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the 13th and 14th of June 2015. The Portuguese driver accepted the invitation given to him by ByKolles Racing and will take the wheel of a CLM P1 Prototype with a gasoline AER engine in the LMP1 category. This will be Tiago Monteiro’s fifth participation in the legendary race.

The venture took shape late and, as explained by Tiago, he didn’t think he was going to have the pleasure of racing in the 2015 Le Mans event: "My involvement with Honda in the WTCC limits my availability and I have had to turn down invitations from other teams for the 24h. Fortunately, I don’t have that problem with Kolles Racing! Honda understands the importance of this event for me and has gladly accepted that I will take part in this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. I am very grateful to the team, where I have known a lot of people since I was in Formula 1 with Jordan, Midland and Spyker. I know the way they work and the potential of the team. I am very excited to get started on this project."

By taking part in the 83rd edition of the 24h of Le Mans, Tiago will also participate in two testing sessions so that he can acclimatize himself to the CLM P1 / 01. "Ideally, I should participate in a lot more tests to familiarize myself with the car because I have not driven a LMP1 since 2011," Tiago explained. "But I will do my best to be fast and not make any mistakes. For now, my goal is to make it to the end of the 24 hours and maybe even think about a podium in the category! It would be a fantastic achievement."

The 24 hours of Le Mans will be held on the 13th and 14th of June and the official test sessions on the 30th and 31st of May. Tiago will also participate to private testing with ByKolles on May 19th and 20th.
