Remembering when Bennani claimed maiden WTCC victory
In Shanghai two years ago
Mehdi Bennani made motorsport history when he became the first driver from Morocco to win an FIA-sanctioned race, taking the laurels in the second World Touring Car Championship event at Shanghai on 12 October 2014.
Driving a Proteam Honda Civic WTCC, Bennani led throughout from pole position to score a landmark victory.
Bennani will be chasing more World Touring Car Championship success when the Shanghai International Circuit hosts WTCC Race of China from 23-25 September.
